Whoot Almost the Weekend!

It's my last weekend to have tons of grown up fun before next weekend when the ex and his girlfriend go to Europe for at least 9 days. I'll have the girl alone for that time and that does put a damper on grown up fun :).

So as to this weekend, tonight is 'team building' with the softball team. We are trying a new restaurant over by where I work and then likely headed to Jillians for bowling, billiards and video games. They have really yummy onion rings. They are not aquarium level yummy but good.

Saturday the roomie has asked me to go to a wedding with her. She says she has a hotel room and the reception is at the hotel so who could pass that up? The softball team is going to beerfest on Saturday night so I told them I had a better offer. I should have probably thought that out a bit more considering what happened after the last game *AHEM*. Besides I have a new dress and can wear my butterfly shoes!

And I already know today is not a diet day. There will be cake in about 15 minutes, then out for lunch, and out for supper. The wedding tomorrow....Oh vay I see the gym in my future for a long time Saturday.

Much Too Long To Do List

I was thinking about it today and anymore I don't seem to have any nights free. When I am not being mommy then I am playing softball. If I am not doing either of these things then I have a huge to do list. I am off the hook for softball tonight as so many others are nursing injuries that we are not practicing tonight! I started to think I had a whole night free and what would I do with myself and then remembered the state of the Condo and I have a pretty good idea what to do with at least some of my night :) -- CLEANING.

No word yet on the house and then my to do list gets really super long. Only 3 more weeks of softball and I'll be sad to see it over.

A Detour to Work

So last week I showed up a week early to my dentist appointment and today I showed up on time. They took x-rays which for some reason I always think I can feel the tiny pokes of the machine.

And they found a couple cavities, which makes me incredibly sad. It's likely my own fault as I completely forgot about my appointment in March so I haven't done to the dentist in a year. So yippie skippy Thursday I get to go in for fillings.

And then I became self conscience wondering how many cavities the average person has? I wonder what it says that most of these cavities have come since I became an adult. Is that normal?

I have another double header for softball tonight. I see a hot tub and a glass of wine in my future tonight.

C Horror Movie

So it's Friday and I am working today - I use the term loosely as see previous. I wonder into the rest room. Pick a stall and notice that it is really dark - and then there's a flash of light - and then it's dark again - and then a flash of light. It reminded me of a strobe light and I kept looking around waiting for the walls to crash down or someone to burst through the door with a knife. I keep getting this feeling each time I have to go to the rest room today. Yes now I remember why I don't like horror flicks much - they put the most irrational thoughts in your head!

A Thank You

It is easy to take your friends for granted. I wanted to make sure I sent a thank you to Dave and Margie for dropping everything in the middle of the week to help me shop for houses. Now add to that Margie's brilliant idea of looking at similar floor plans to the one that I am very interested in, and you have a very happy camper. I am blessed to be surrounded with so many people who care about me and are willing to help me find what will make me happy.

This has been an amazing week and I am still a little in awe by all that has transpired. I am questioning what I know, and what I thought I knew and many other things. I had someone say something that was so simple to them and so clear, and yet it was so profound to me. I had completely missed it but it made so much sense. I am one of those strange people who really think that kharmically things balance out so if there isn't some bad with the good I get nervous. The week has handed me both so I am feeling pretty balanced. Completely surprised, but balanced.

I Did Read the Label!

I have found a new lip balm that I really like and it is tupelo honey. I have a food allergy so of course I always read the label and the only thing it mentions is [Citrus medica leimonum (lemon) peel oil and other flavor ingredients.] Sounds safe enough to me because well it's honey not lemon in the name.....Yeah not so much. Applying something your allergic to in a place where you have a reaction - not the best idea ever. Luckily I felt the reaction happening when I had used it too often and it is confined to one area.

Right in other news - still house shopping. The usual suspects are meeting with me tonight at a prospective house that has a choice location but really needs some TLC. The catch to this place is that the offers go not to the home owner but to the bank. They pick one from however many they have and decide what is best for them. No negotiations. I might still try for it anyway because well it would be really convening for me in a co-parent sense.

What else - softball team still needs some work. We did manage to score a whole 6 runs! Whoot because that is 4 more than the first two games combined. I have to unfortunately miss practice tonight in favor of house shopping.

Tires. **WARNING: RANT FORTHCOMING** Why is it that car tires are so cheap and SUV/Truck tires are so damned expensive? A cheap car tire is what - $20? A cheap SUV tire is $90! Now being logical about it, you don't need 4+ car tires to equal 1 SUV/Truck tire! I did what you have to do to get a decent price on tires which is call a couple places and let them know what the other guy will do for you. I did this and yesterday saved over $100 on tires. It was still close to $500 but they are supposed to last 60k miles. I did however drive through a very large water puddle today just to check the traction and it was awesome. The tires have the interlocking center strip that all terrain tires have and then two water channels to help in ice/snow/water. I think I am going to be happy with them but time will tell.

Via De

Name five books, music CDs, or movies, if any, that would you rather buy someone a copy of rather than loan out your last copy.

1) cd - Bob Marley - Legends
2) cd - Tom Petty & Heartbreakers - Greatest Hits
3) cd - Mary Prankster - Roulette Girl
4) Movie - Parent Trap ( The original not the crappy remake)
5) Movie - Indian Summer

I would have also said my original Bible but that seemed too easy.

Ok so I am allowed to tag people now right? Let's see - Random, Tim & Amy.

Blaa Monday

I started to feel not so great about Wednesday night last week and I am still feeling not so great. I skipped softball yesterday so that I wouldn't be completely useless ( knock on wood) for the game tonight. It should be fun. We are short on girls so the roommate will be filling in tonight. I haven't played softball with her since college and lets just say its been awhile. Some of the team called on Friday to check on me and I thought that was sweet.

I got my jersey today for the game tonight and somewhere along the way it was ordered with a misspelling on the back, or the t-shirt place misspelled it. We went with an I theme, which is to say every jersey on the back has a name that starts with I- . I had seriously considered I - defy you. I was overruled by the team and ended up with I-Bruise, which was misspelled I-Brusie. The nice people at the place are going to redo it for me if I bring it on on Wednesday. Yes there were ones that were not very tasteful that people came up with. One girl was going to use I-daho. If you knew the girl it makes it very funny as she is anything but.

I went up two flights of stairs today and that left me out of breath which isn't a very good omen for tonight. Oh well you don't really die from colds right?

So Very Busy

Yes I have been neglectful in updating my page but I have been having a hard time finding any time. Softball has taken up 2 -3 nights a week and when I am not there then I am taking care of KK. I decided to try and make myself more busy and I have done a really great job of it! I am down to one fairly substantial sized bruise on my arm - woot!

Let's see other news - I am currently house shopping and mortgage shopping which should be both fun and interesting. I have already found a place I am pretty sure I am going to like but I haven't been in it yet. It's looking like I'll see it Saturday morning.

I was going to meet up with a friend tonight but she isn't feeling well so it looks like softball practice and then the hot tub and wine. Did I mention that at lunch today I am going with another girl to the batting cages?

Bizarre

I have having a very bizarre last 24 hours. Let's see - I told someone off ( which is not something I normally do) , and had an incredibly fun softball practice in the rain for 1 1/2 hours until everyone else decided to give up because I would have stayed and hung out in the rain all night. I think I was hit on by a woman. Oh and last night I had the strangest dream I have ever had. I'll have to tell Doyce about it and get him to write a book. It's so strange that even I woke up going - AHA! This is where Tim Burton gets his weird ideas!

As for the rest of it, I am for the most part back to being me. The extrovert is back and will call only on the introvert when she is needed again.

Getting Older Sucks.

This has been the source of most of my pain. It's where my company sponsored co-ed softball team has been spending a fair amount of time. We had a two hour practice yesterday and only 6 of us showed up. Now of that 6, only 4 of us could play, so needless to say I got quite the workout. I am feeling my age today and sadly adding another bruise to the list that is getting frighteningly long. I am still waiting for someone to think they need to do an intervention because I look like someone is beating the hell out of me. Thankfully the worst bruise is covered by clothing and I have managed to avoid getting hit in the face so far. I still love to play and I am getting better but no where as good as I once was.

Back Tracking

It occurs to me that while I talked about the trip to Georgia for business that I didn't mention the trip to NY and Mass for fun. I had a great time in NY hanging out with Tim and Barry. Those two guys are just a riot and it's a shame they are so far away. Thursday night we went to the Dinosaur - which funny enough came up while talking to some of the people in Georgia - when I said where I had been in NY I was asked if I had ever eaten there. The Dinosaur is a really fun place with a sassy waitstaff.

Friday morning the three of us went to Julie's for breakfast and then I hung out with Barry for awhile and then drove to Mass to hang out with Random. That was also a very fun time. He lives near a lake and while he had plans for part of the day on Saturday I went for a walk and hike around the lake in really the exact wrong shoes :). We went to a place called the Old Mill for dinner where I got to feed ducks and have fantastic swordfish....mmmm....swordfish :). It's also a shame that the folks in Mass are so far away as well.

Then Sunday back to NY and I was lucky enough to be going the correct way on the road because going from NY to Mass the turnpike was backed up for 5 miles. Sunday night Tim and I went out for dinner and when we got back to his place Barry was there and the three of us hung out watching Coupling. Just two episodes was what we were going to watch......not so much with the stopping there.

Monday morning Stan, Sam, Barry, Tim and I had breakfast at Julie's and then three of us were off to the airport. Stan and I for the first time on the trip got to sit next to each other on the plane. He had a misadventure on the way to NY which caused him to miss the plane from Denver to Atlanta. So when we hit Atlanta from NY we sat down and had a bit to eat while I waited for Delta to lose my luggage. There's a long story there but the short version is I was expecting them to lose my bag and wasn't disappointed. The disappointing part is that I had to leave Stan and then wait around for 3 hours for them to tell me they had already sent my bag to Denver.

I couldn't even go get the rental car for my team because my credit card didn't arrive until after I got back from the trip :).

Thanks to everyone who made my vacation relaxing and fun. I think I am starting to get addicted to this travel thing.
