Planes, Trains and Limos

It was a very long week. There were airport delays on both ends of the trip. I had to laugh as the girl I was traveling with made a joke about a limo about 10 seconds before we saw the guy with the sign with my last name on it. What can I say my company recommended a limo service. :). It was a stretch limo and the ride was sweet. He was a touch grumpy because of our flight delays but I called and they said they were watching my flight so I don't feel like it is my fault.

I am not sure we ever caught the train we intended to in the time I was in NYC. And looking back on it once at 1:45 am we followed people saying their train was leaving in a minute and so we followed them running through Penn station and THANKFULLY it was the train we were looking for. Although it wouldn't have been all bad to head back to the little Irish pub we were at. Thinking back on it now, following people whose train is supposed to leave at the same time as yours is probably not the best way to go.

The ride back to the airport was even sweeter! My boss, me and another employee in a stretch Hummer. Damn it was freaking huge. The downside being that it didn't have a trunk so the luggage was in one of the seats. We didn't notice because there was so much room. I'll say that the lazer lights inside were distracting when they were flashing across people. Then there was the delay at the airport and my goodness not one plane on time this trip. I'll take most of the blame for the trains though :).

Transportation Issues

I am good and all fulled up on bad transportation kharma. I am so thankful to be back in my beautiful Colorado, but as I have been up since 4:45 am my time and just got home about a half hour ago I am beat.

Where the heck did the week go?

I am seriously sitting down for a couple seconds for the first time since I left work today. I got KK home and I was chatting a bit at work so I needed to grab some food on the way home. I knew I was in trouble when KK started asking for cheese in the car. We got the food ate and then instead of tub and then Barney I pulled a fast one on her. It was outside time ( Mommy got to pull weeds and KK got to draw on the sidewalk.) then bath and then nighty night. Up until about an hour ago, she'd been getting up every 10-20 minutes. I did get the lawn mowed, and fertilized and watered. I have barely had time to pack but I am almost done now. I leave for NYC in the morning and I am really excited about it. This is much cooler than next month when I am off to Houston.

I am still feeling my age from softball practice on Sunday and then the game on Monday. We did better than any game last year. It was so much fun. Wednesday I should have gotten more done but I got distracted by a really great sale at Macy's. I have to get some rest now.

Another Long Week but Hope as Well

Monday and Tuesday were extremely long days with me working almost 24 hours in those two days alone. I got some praise from the new boss which was nice. It was a very long week with the person that reports to me, but on Friday it was actually a good day! There was a long meeting Thursday night with her and my boss and the outcome was that on Friday we all had a good day.
Now do I trust that? No, not so much, but maybe the fact that the three of us were in a meeting in the morning and I had HR come find me because I had set up a meeting to talk the them about this maybe set off some warning bells as well. I am done playing around.

In other news I have softball practice today! GLEE! The games start on Monday and I am quite pleased. I am also going to play on Wednesday nights so that I can get outside and get more exercise. Is it whitewater rafting season yet? This is all the updating the toddler is going to stand for. Good day all!

Better than one vacation

Because two is more than one! This month I am headed out to NYC! Three and a half days for fun and then three days for work. I still have no idea what I am doing while I am out there, but it will just be nice to get away. The Consortium and I got tickets last night for KOA and my new wonderful boss is letting me take time off in June for that. We combined plane trips so the hosts will only have to make two trips to the airport total. I love travel it is one of the things I look forward to.

In other news I got one of the bright shiny paychecks for one week. It was the size of my normal bi-monthly check. Granted it didn't have daycare, 401k, medical or anything but taxes taken out -- but it was so nice!
